Every product is broken down spec by spec. We normalise each measurement onto a 0–100 quality scale, weight it by how much it actually matters for real-world performance, and combine them into one transparent score out of 100. Read the full published methodology.

Shade footprint, UPF rating, wind stability, packed weight, setup time and price — pulled from manufacturer data and hands-on notes, normalised so every spec is comparable.

2. Quantitative & weighted

Each spec carries a weight based on how much it actually matters on the sand. No vibes, no sponsorships — the math decides the ranking.

3. Beach-day aware

We re-weight the same data for each kind of trip — windy days, big families, packing light, tight budgets — to build genuinely useful best-of lists.
